I live in Spain, born British, never knew you existed and found you by chance on Youtube, but cannot post anything. My greatest respects to you all, l cannot dance my way out of a paper bag. So to watch people doing things l am unable to do, brings tears to my eyes, as you did.

The night at the War and Peace show I saw you dance I was so impressed I went away and learnt to dance. Who would have thought years later I would be dancing with you and be good friends. Huge thank you for the inspiration.

It was our first visit to a Surrey Jive event and we all had a fantastic evening. Everyone was very friendly and Darrell Higham was brilliant as always. The six of us are not that capable of getting up and dancing, so we resorted to the sidelines and marvelled at the expertise and enthusiasm of the many club members.

My wife and I wanted to learn to jive ready for this years Goodwood Revival and we also wanted something that we could do together so after an inquisitive and tentative email to Paul and Nicola at Surrey Jive we signed ourselves up.

Paul, Nicola and the team have been absolutely amazing, the lessons are not rushed and the revision of the weeks previous lessons before learning a new one really help to build confidence.

We have also been to the monthly dances that are just fantastic, everyone is friendly and it’s a great place to practice what you’ve learned!

Running out of ways to say just how wonderful the Ruby's events are - last night was exceptional! I just wanted to say thank you so much to your dancers. They were absolutely fabulous and everyone enjoyed their session, we all had a really good time and it was a great way to end our event.

Lindsay and Eric provided an energetic and entertaining demonstration of the jive at our annual sailing club regatta. Many guests then participated in an excellent, well executed jive lesson. Just finished the beginner 10-week course, absolutely loved it! Paul, Nicola and the team made it good fun all the way and are really friendly and welcoming. Massive thanks for such great teaching, classes were really enjoyable and the ‘homework videos’ easy to follow. we have already signed up for the workshop in June and will definitely be back for the Intermediate classes later in the year. we have watched many people on the dance floor rather enviously for a few years and now we can join them! Looking forward to becoming a Ruby’s regular!

If like me you have never been much of a dancer but want to try and learn a fun dance from the rock and role era then this is for you. All the basic moves covered in the beginners course and if like me you don't have a partner to take along they provide one. I had Lynn who had so much patience with a particularly inept pupil.

I began learning to dance with Surrey Jive in March 2017. I started with the Beginner's course and then progressed to Intermediate's (though I needed two rounds to get the hang of that one!). The courses are well structured, and go at a good pace for you to really nail down the moves. The team are very friendly, patient and happy to help you, and the monthly social dances are super helpful for getting in some practice outside the classroom. By the end of summer, I was hooked! And I was amazed when I was asked to join the Jive Squadron just a year later! Now, I'm even helping out at classes. I cannot tell you how much joy this has brought me. Not only do I have a new skill and passion, but I've also met the loveliest people and have a whole new group of friends. Rather unexpectedly, I'm also more confident in myself - nothing is more terrifying than performing in front of a crowd, so if I can do that I can do anything! Thanks to all the team at Surrey Jive for giving me such a wonderful gift. I'll be eternally thankful I made that booking :)

Having enjoyed horse riding for many years, I suffered a couple of tumbles leaving me temporarily injured with compressed shoulder and worse, last year, with broken ribs. I decided maybe, at my age, I should pursue a safer but equally absorbing and exciting activity. Your Jive class and Ruby,s parties have got me hooked. Love it!!

I would like to thank you for your encouragement in learning these steps in the first set of 10 classes. I have thoroughly enjoyed every class though difficult at times being an old woman, challenging but not stressful. Thanks to you and all your dance troupe. I just so love your techniques and the atmosphere you create each Thursday and how you have welcomed me into your group.

Just wanted to say how much my party enjoyed the dance lesson, as part of my birthday celebrations. It was lots to learn but an enjoyable challenge and the time seemed to fly by. The teachers Eric & Lindsay were super patient and kept everyone relaxed, which was quite an achievement as we started out the evening, looking like a scene from a zombie movie. A fun and friendly time, with fantastic teaching. Will definitely be doing this again and that includes the guys with the look of terror on their faces, when their partners started discussing gift vouchers for Christmas.

Came along to Ruby’s on Saturday for the first time. It was amazing watching all of the experienced dancers, in the demonstration, but also on the dance floor! Thanks to Patrick and Maria from the Epsom course, and the lovely Kim, I even managed to try and dance a few times. Si Cranstoun was brilliant too. The course was such great fun, and the helpers so friendly and supportive - will definitely be on the next course where you can fit me in. A massive thank you to all involved .

When I first rang to enquire about the beginners course I asked was I too old and also I didn't have anyone to go with as my husband had passed away. I was told it didn't matter so I joined. I have just finished the first 10 week course and loved every minute.

Well my wife and I have just signed up for another course so that should tell you how much we have enjoyed ourselves! We have always wanted to learn some type of dance together and Surrey Jive was recommended by an old school friend of mine.I am so grateful we decided to give it a go. Our nerves were unfounded - the welcome we got and the constant support and encouragement have been second to none.The teaching is superb, so clear and just the right speed and level, so you don't feel as if you'll never pick things up. Paul & Sam are wonderful and when only one of us has made a class, the helpers have been great to dance with.We've also had great fun going to Ruby's - it feels like a whole new world has been opened up! We are really looking forward to doing it all again in January and consolidating what we have learnt so far.

Jive was never my thing had no interest in the music, fashion or dance but went along as my wife wanted so much to jive just like her parents did. we signed up for the 10 week complete novice class. walking through the door you was put straight at ease by some of the loveliest kindest and genuine people. so it began and boy did I struggle at first but persevere we did. the teachers and staff could not do enough for you going over each step again and again until we were comfortable. There was no judging or comments only help (which i needed) by week 4 AMAZING we got it and everything came together. Last night was our last night and we are proud to say we can jive and have jived at parties in the past few weeks. We will be back for the next class and we will be attending some of the great nights put on by surrey jive. we could not thank them enough for the hard work and dedication in getting you to dance. cant thank the team enough. keep up the amazing work. jon & nicky

We have been dancing now for about three years and in that time we have made many friends, learned new moves and expanded our social activity no end. The Surrey Jive team and the Ruby's dance being a very big part of that. We loved it so much we just had to give something back to the team so we now help out single dancers who wish to learn dance and have fun. It is a pleasure helping out and we also get to build on our technique. Win win. Paul and Nicola, Sam, Eric, Lindsay you guys are great and were happy to endorse and so are our feet. Don't think too long about it, there is nothing else to do but Dance and have loads of fun happy moments. As Nike say.........Just Do It.... :-)

Just finished the 5 week intermediates plus course with Paul and Nicola. Would highly recommend to anyone who has completed the intermediate class and is ready to build and expand on the moves they already know. Quite intense, but clearly taught and good fun. You will come away with another 12 moves to include in your repertoire, as with previous courses be prepared to put in lots of practice and enjoy!

Paul and Nicola are fantastic teachers and dancers. I have really enjoyed learning jiving, which I never thought I would be able to do but they have made it possible and I have also enjoyed going to Ruby's and practicing my moves with lots of experienced dancers. I am looking forward to moving onto Beginners + and Intermediate classes.

Dancing with surrey jive for the past four years has been fun exciting and most of all enjoyable I first started a class on a thursday evening and soon moved on to do mondays as well, I can truly say that you couldnt wish too meet such nice people that run surrey jive and the people that attend week in and week out, I have met and made some lovely friends, a good choice to make if your looking to dance is with Surrey Jive.

I joined Surrey Jive dance class nearly four years ago as a beginner. My husband came along too. We had great time at class, everyone was friendly and made us welcome. The lessons are really well taught and easy to follow and by week 5 we were hooked. Learning to dance has opened up a whole new social scene for us and have made some great friends too. Would highly recommend Surrey Jive if you are looking to learn a great style of dance.

I originally learnt to jive with these lovely people, progressing from the beginner course onto the intermediate course and finally the intermediate plus. I thoroughly enjoyed every level and their regular dances gave me lots of opportunity to put it all into practice - friendly and fun!

I have been dancing now for just over a year, joining Surrey Jive lessons at the beginners and then moving on to intermediate and now intermediate plus. They have given me the confidence to get up and dance as I now know over 40 moves. Starting lessons was very daunting as I am quite shy but I have met the most friendliest, patient and welcoming people and my social life is now packed with weekly lessons and monthly dances.

Surrey jive classes are everything they say in their description and more. The teachers are experienced and helpful and their enthusiasm and passion for dancing is infectious. I attended a number of Surrey Jive courses as an individual and the class situation is not in the least intimidating. Get your dancing shoes on!

To say that my husband and I had two left feet would have been under statement, but we started lessons with Surrey Jive who broke every move down step by step. With their patience, support and friendly guidance we have finally nailed the art of Swing Jive. Monthly dances are a great way to practice and everyone is welcome whether you have taken classes with the team or just fancy a dance. Keep up the good work guys.

As our children grew older we decided we needed a hobby to do together that would keep us fit and get us out more. After seeing Surrey Jive we took the plunge and booked on a beginner course. Now the kids moan that we are out more than they are. The courses are easy to follow and great fun and the instructors are patient and friendly. Surrey Jive also run social dances twice a month where you can put all your new moves into practice.

My husband and I had been married for 20 years and the only time we had danced together was for the first dance of our wedding day, as my husband had 2 left feet. We decided to join Surrey Jive 3 years ago in the hope that maybe we would be able to learn enough moves to dance together to a song. The first couple of weeks we felt like giving up but the encouragement and support we had from Surrey Jive kept us going. 3 years on and we are out every weekend dancing. All thanks to Surrey Jive, a welcoming, friendly and fun group!

My wife Jacque and I met surrey jive in Sutton 3 yrs ago and loved what we saw joined and done all the classes from start to finish from beginners to advanced and never looked back. We saw Surrey Jive in our local high street performing and decided this was something that we as a couple could do together. We have been doing Jive now for 2 years now and they performed at our wedding as well.

Having never danced before I was a little worried going along as a single lady. I need never have worried. I turned up at their Wallington class where I was greeted by a team of really friendly people. As a single dancer, each week I have been paired with an experienced dancer so it's like having a one to one lesson. Each move is broken down clearly by the teachers and I come away each week having learned two new moves. There is also plenty of chance to practice at the two dances Surrey Jive run each month. I'm just coming to the end of my beginners course and am looking forward to learning a lot more moves on the intermediates course. Thank you Surrey Jive for giving me a great new hobby and a chance to meet lots of new friends.

The Surrey Jive team are so friendly and helpful. The teachers are patient and teach proper footwork unlike a lot of the jive classes I've tried before. The classes are real fun with teachers who really know their stuff. Surrey Jive have opened up a great new social life for me. This has to be the best £70 I've ever spent.

Me and my husband are the original 2 left feet couple , but we have really enjoyed our classes with derek and jackie and the rest of surrey jive, they are all so helpful and supportive. We are not quiet there yet but are determined to keep at it. If you are thinking of dancing give them a try they really are a nice bunch of people x(and thanks to paul sarah and nick who always seems to help me out).

I have been wanting to learn to jive for years, and we finally started learning with Surrey Jive in January and we just love it. The instructors are really friendly and patient and the social dances are great fun. I would recommend Surrey Jive to anyone wanting to learn to dance.

I had wanted to learn to jive properly for years but never quite found the time. Wanting to keep my New Year resolution for fun ‘me-time’, I was delighted to find that Surrey Jive provided exactly what I was looking for. In fact, I enjoyed the classes so much and became so keen that I joined both venues and have become really hooked. I have now completed the beginners and intermediate courses and have signed up to repeat the intermediate course again. I am very impressed with the style of teaching, the attention to detail and the dedication of the dance teachers and helpers who are all absolutely fantastic, fun, easy-going and patient. I joined (feeling really nervous!) as a single lady and very soon started to relax and thoroughly enjoy the classes. I now can't get enough and want to dance 4 or 5 times a week!! I can highly recommend Surrey Jive.

Just had to to say how much we enjoyed your lessons at Lakeside, Hayling Island over the weekend, both of you have a great ability to teach and were a joy to watch dancing. It is just a shame you are not local to us as we both would love to attend your classes.

I just wanted to thank you and Sam for a wonderful evening last night. All of our guests absolutely loved the music and particularly the dance lessons. I think a few of them have actually got the bug and you may well be seeing them at your Wednesday classes in September. It was such good fun and it didn't matter whether you were a great dancer or not so great (like me!) it was a terrific experience and the feedback we have had from guests has been amazing. Incredibly the evening (along with the raffle) made nearly £1,000 which we are going to split between Sutton Mencap and Help for Heroes

It was an absolute pleasure having you all at my celebration and I'm glad you enjoyed the evening too. I wished we could have listened to more of your music and watched more of your dancing it was wonderful please thank everyone for me. You will all come highly recommended for any future parties especially mine!!

Thank you so much for the great music and your brilliant demonstration of swing jive at my mum's birthday party on Sunday. Everyone enjoyed it and it was amazing that so many people got up to have a go at learning the steps to "The Stroll". You explained it so well, even our friend with the two walking steps managed to get the hang of it.

It was lovely to meet you and thanks again, you made our 40's night feel so authentic!

Just do it......it took us just 10 weeks to learn how to jive something I'd watched my mum and dad do for years.......they teach it so well and slowly even my husband got the hang of it......... and its opened up a whole new social life for us

Brilliant night at Bourne Hall, Hollywood Glamour night. Lots of people commented on the brilliant atmosphere and how friendly everyone was - as always at any Surrey Jive dance night. Had to eat a whole tub of ice cream when I got home! Hot night.

We attended our first Ruby’s last night and we just wanted to say how much we enjoyed it. The Jets were fantastic and perfect for the occasion.

What a FANTASTIC night at Ruby's. The band were brill and the Dj's kept the floor packed between sets. As always, the new dancers were made really welcome and were dragged screaming onto the dance floor to loose their Jive virginity, but once up, didn't want to sit down again. That's the addictiveness of a Ruby's night. Also good to see the support from the Everythings Jumpin' gang and our new friends from Rebels Rock and Roll. Great to have you guys and gals along. Big congrats to the SJ team for another brilliant evening" ;0)

Just to say thank you for your kind comment about my progress. It is very encouraging, especially because before I joined Surrey Jive I had been a complete dance-phobic for decades, and would not go anywhere near a dance floor! It is only due to the classes that I have overcome that powerful inhibition and have started to have fun and, what is more, realise that I can actually do it.

Excellent value for money, really good dancers to teach the steps in the class. I feel that I have managed to get back into dancing after a gap of 4 years!

Learnt a lot in a 'fun' environment. Teachers were really helpful and appreciated experienced dancers being around as well as teachers.

The day went brilliantly, really was very special and we enjoyed it immensely... The dance was an absolute success and it went down a storm! According to some guests, it was the highlight of the day!!! Once again, thanks for your brilliant instruction and kindness

My garter came off half way through! Some people even thought this was part of our routine. Thank you so much to you all for helping us pull this off. Dom was really nervous, as you will see from his serious face and upright stance!

I have achieved more than I hoped to. I felt like a fish out of water in the first few weeks but as promised the penny finally dropped!

Surrey jive provide a fantastic opportunity to the general public to learn to dance in a professional but relaxed manner. All the instructors are friendly, positive and provide encouragement irrespective of your level or ability to dance. They provide an honest service to their students. They support people and student in a social setting also building on confidence levels.
I would recommend to all my friends to join and become involved.

Diane and I have had three great days provided by yourselves over the last five days and enjoyed them all having the last of the Inters Plus lessons last Wednesday, Ruby's on Friday and finally the Strolls Workshop yesterday. Just wanted to thank you all for a great experience! The first time we did beginners it took a few weeks to get the hang of things, however we both progressed amazingly. When you see the pro's dance at the beginning of the course you never think you will be able to achieve what we see, but we did! It probably exceeded my expectations. It was nowhere near as scary or embarrassing as I'd feared.

Been dancing for a number of years and without doubt the whole package that Surrey Jive offers is the most professional, friendly, well presented format that we have ever experienced. A tremendous sense of fun and encouragement is offered through an extremely well planned and delivered programme, allowing people to develop at their own pace. We only wish we had found Surrey Jive before, as we come away from all classes and events on a high, knowing that we have not only found new friends but are developing new skills. We can't speak highly enough of them. Lindsay and Eric.

Having never danced before I was apprehensive to begin with but the team at Surrey Jive have made it so much fun learning, and now nearing the end of the intermediate course I can honestly say I can dance. I have also met many new people through the social events which are fantastic fun, and will continue to learn from them and practice everything I've learned.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our courses with Surrey Jive and are sad that we are fast approaching the end. The instructors are always keen to help and have managed to move us from non jivers to intermediate dancers without us really noticing! The social side to the school has also been incredibly good, we were warned at the beginning of the course that jiving takes over your life! We can only say how very right they were! We would recommend the Surrey Jive team wholeheartedly to anyone who is keen to learn to dance. We have loved every moment!
